June: Cod Liver Oil? Not these days!
Question:
Cod liver oil was taken primarily for vitamin D (to prevent rickets), vitamin A and some omega-3 fatty acids. Today we know it can be high in toxic heavy metals and/or PCBs (the liver stores these substances) and that accumulated high levels of fat soluble vitamins D and A can cause toxic affects.
May: Are Supplements Right for Me?
Our doctor recommended a supplement to my husband but he insists they aren't necessary. We eat a relatively balanced diet but I'm on the side of the doctor. What do you think?

Chinese traditionally have not included milk and dairy products in their diet so where do they get enough calcium? Do they have osteoporosis?
