Did you think the photos of Kap Pin Long’s flooding were really dramatic?  Well, we did too, until we were saw these photos taken by Explore’s Tara Smyth on the road by Phoenix Palm Villa, just below Lung Mei Village, which sits at the top end of Lung Mei Tsuen Road.  This area is a bit north of Kap Pin Long and Sha Kok Mei, and close to the Hang Cho Shui stream.

Lung_Mei_Sai_Kung4Lung_Mei_Sai_Kung3It was pure Mother Nature causing the torrents of mud coming down off the hills here last Sunday.  Gutters and drains just couldn’t cope with the deluge.  No building projects in the area to blame this fantastic mess on!

The kids loved it, of course.  Not often that you get the go ahead from mum and dad to go out for a walk like that in the rain and mud right near your home.

Have YOU got a picture that’ll top these??

Phoenix Palm Villa article. Do parents have no common sense - or must the little princes and princesses be allowed to do whatever they want - small children allowed to play in gushing and fast flowing muddy water? Whilst I am a firm believer that children are far too protected these days, the reality of the PPV pictures is that one fall and the child would at least take in muddy water, with its mixture of bacteria the human body is unused to, let alone the risk of the water flow over soming them. The photographer is presumably an adult and a parent of one of the children. How quickly could they have got to a fallen child?!
