Lau Yuk Ling
...a native SKer dedicated to his community
Lau Yuk Ling was born in Mau Ping. After 18 years in Liverpool he returned to take over Wing Wo Seafood Restaurant following his father’s death in 1979. Opened in 1970 before reclamation moved the waterfront away from its doorstep, the restaurant is only one part of his responsibilities.
He has served on the SK Rural Committee since 1982 and is Deputy Administrator of the Kai Fong (neighbourhood committee). He’s also got 3 children and a new granddaughter to spoil.
Likes about SK: The food, clear air, slower pace and friendly people. The mountains and sea that surround us and protect us.
Dislikes about SK: Insufficient car parking space on the weekends
